September 14th-15th Painting Seminar with Judy Ribitch

Judy began painting over 30 years ago and has studied with many national Decorative Artists over the years.  Judy began painting in oils, but quickly changed over to acrylics studying locally with Mary Wiseman and Mary Luckstead.  Judy began teaching locally at the “Craftmaker Shop” and at Michaels.  Judy has been teaching at conventions both locally and nationally for over 20 years, Heart of Ohio Tole (Hoot), Mad Painting Convention, New England Traditions (Net), SDP National Conference, and Creative Painting Convention. Judy is a member of the Society of Decorative Painters and Great Lakes Decorative Artist

Judy has had her designs featured in the Decorative Painter, Tole World, The Decorative Artist Workbook, Painting, The Painting Rag, and most recently The Pixelated Palette. Judy has also had painted ornaments in the Smithsonian Institute and The White House.

Judy will be teaching 2 projects. Project 1 is the Portland Rose specifically designed for the Raindrop Chapter, and project 2 is the hare.

Ephemera can be purchased from Smooth Cut Wood for $5 or you can provide your own surface.

  • Judy Ribitch is the “Big brush” for 2019. She will teach 2 projects Sept. 14 and 15.
  • Member cost is $70.00 for the two days and two projects – Single class purchase is not available.
  • Registration: Open to Raindrop members for priority purchase through July 31, 2019.  On-line or in person at chapter meetings.
  • Non-members can purchase the seminar on-line starting August 1, 2019 for an additional $15.

2019 Clackamas County Fair – August 17

Come join us August 17th, 2019 starting at 10AM for a great painting time with kids of all ages.

Spend the day at the fair helping children paint a wooden bird house they have just built ….

 

What’s in it for you:

  1. Experience the joy of helping the younger kids paint a project. They are all smiles!
  2. Free Parking Pass & Fair Entry
  3. You need not volunteer all day, a few hours would be great, then you could spend the rest of the day enjoying the fair and all it has to offer.

You need not bring any supplies as all will be supplied by the chapter, just bring an apron if you use one!

June 29, 2019 Painting Seminar with Lucy Gertscher

Come an join us for a painting seminar with Lucy Gertscher on June 29, 2019. This event will be held at the Local 290 Union Hall in Tualatin, Oregon from 9AM – 4:30PM. There will be 30 seats available. Raindrop chapter members fee is $15. Non-chapter members can sign up starting June 4th. Non member fee is $30. Pictures and instructions will be given out at the June chapter meeting or mailed. The surface can be purchased from Smooth Cut Wood for $12.50ea or Viking Woodcraft for $.

Bring usual painting supplies and paint. This will be a pot-luck so bring some food.

Chapter meeting & paintin’ – June – with Karen Hubbard

Come join us June 1st for our chapter meeting and paintin’ and paint this sweet snow bird with Karen Hubbard.

We will be at the Union Hall in Tualatin. Cost for the class is $9.00.  The Snow bird is painted on a 5” plate.  The plate is not provided so bring your own surface and your own paints. If you are interested and plan to attend, either email – vicepresidentraindrop@gmail.com or mafedoris@gmail.com OR call Malinda @ 503-669-1747 and she will send the prep instructions to you.

Karen will need to have a good count for the patterns, so please let Malinda know as soon as possible. If you are writing a check, please make the check payable to Karen Hubbard.
